Mika prepare to host Bentonit Ijevan at the home ground on August 26, 2026, with both sides eager to assert their credentials and claim a result that could define their Cup season. Both Mika and Bentonit Ijevan will be eager to build momentum when they meet in Cup. The hosts will hope that the the home ground crowd can inspire a performance, whatever the numbers suggest. The visitors will back themselves to cause problems and will not make the trip expecting an easy afternoon. A young right-back is another position City are interested in adding in, while, in terms of outgoings, goalkeeper James Trafford is close to joining Leeds so will need to be replaced.

The tactical subplot is compelling: Mika favour a possession-based game built on patience and control, while Bentonit Ijevan are happiest sitting deep and exploding forward on the counter — a classic contrast of philosophies. No wonder the skipper had talked of a 'new Aston Villa' in the pre-match press conference with what seemed like genuine excitement.

Individual moments of quality could tip the balance. Both sides possess players capable of producing something out of nothing, and a single flash of brilliance may be all that separates them. Discipline at the back and sharpness in front of goal will likely tilt the balance one way or the other. Mbeumo and Amad have the right flank covered, while United really need an out-and-out centre-forward to replace Zirkzee, if he leaves.

The market has yet to form a strong view, and the contest looks genuinely difficult to call. With the sides so closely matched, a 1-1 stalemate looks the most likely way this one ends. With positions in the Cup table to defend and momentum to chase, neither side can afford to leave anything in the tank. And Fonseca does not place too much weight on the decision of Roberto Martinez to omit him from the World Cup squad in favour of his Benfica team-mate Tomas Araujo.
