Zlín II vs Uničov - Friendlies Clubs

The history between Zlín II and Uničov lends this Friendlies Clubs fixture an extra layer of spice, and when the two walk out at the home ground on July 15, 2026, recent encounters will be on everyone's mind. Why Manchester United face transfer dilemma with unexpected star of pre-season.

Both camps will view the Friendlies Clubs meeting at the home ground as an opportunity to put a marker down, regardless of where they currently stand. The hosts will hope that the the home ground crowd can inspire a performance, whatever the numbers suggest. The visitors will back themselves to cause problems and will not make the trip expecting an easy afternoon. Skinner had another year to run on his contract but has decided to move on a month out from United beginning their Women’s Super League season at London City Lionesses on September 4.

The tactical subplot is compelling: Zlín II favour a possession-based game built on patience and control, while Uničov are happiest sitting deep and exploding forward on the counter — a classic contrast of philosophies. In possession, Silva has the confidence to play forwards rather than simply recycling possession.

The fixture is likely to be shaped by its key performers, with creative midfielders and clinical finishers on both sides capable of turning the game in an instant. How each side deals with the other's danger men — and who takes their chances when they come — will be central to the outcome. Iraola is on record as an admirer of the former Borussia Dortmund coach who honed his ideas in the Red Bull school where looking forward and pressing high up the pitch are viewed as non-negotiables.

The fixture has the feel of a coin-flip, and picking a winner with any conviction would require a braver pundit than most. The signals point towards a stalemate, with the two sides closely matched across form and standings. A 1-1 draw is easy to envisage. More than just three points is on the line at the home ground — this is a fixture that could shape the narrative of both clubs' seasons. A more central role appears likely given the sale of Youri Tielemans to Manchester United and the anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered by Amadou Onana at the World Cup.
