Volos NFC vs Kalamata - Cup

The Cup returns to the home ground on September 1, 2026, where Volos NFC and Kalamata will lock horns in a contest that could shape their respective campaigns. United could come up against Garnacho once again this forthcoming season, with United scheduled to face Villa on November 7 at Old Trafford, before the return visit to Villa Park on January 16.

Both Volos NFC and Kalamata will be eager to build momentum when they meet in Cup. The hosts will be looking to find their rhythm and put a run of results together. Kalamata will travel with intent, knowing that a positive result here could kick-start their campaign. On Wednesday night, Infantino was given the "full support" of FIFA's management board in a statement despite being forced to abandon his plan to sell stakes in a company to run the World Cup to private investors.

Tactically, the contest promises a fascinating contrast. Volos NFC will look to impose their style on home soil, while Kalamata are likely to have ideas of their own about how to gain the upper hand. In attack, Brazilian forward Kaua Elias has emerged as a name of interest, with United scouts watching the Shakhtar Donetsk striker after his hat‑trick against Kudrivka on Monday.

The fixture is likely to be shaped by its key performers, with creative midfielders and clinical finishers on both sides capable of turning the game in an instant. How each side deals with the other's danger men — and who takes their chances when they come — will be central to the outcome. Man Utd are trying to sign another midfielder before the summer transfer deadline and Brighton star Carlos Baleba is on their radar.

The market has yet to form a strong view, and the contest looks genuinely difficult to call. A share of the spoils looks the most probable outcome, with neither side holding a decisive edge — a 1-1 draw feels like a fitting result. With positions in the Cup table to defend and momentum to chase, neither side can afford to leave anything in the tank. Fulham's Antonee Robinson could be one of those, who would likely be a cheaper alternative to Hall, who has just enjoyed a breakout season with the Magpies.
