Velež vs Milsami Orhei - UEFA Europa Conference League

There is a notable edge to this UEFA Europa Conference League fixture. When Velež meet Milsami Orhei at the home ground on July 9, 2026, both will sense an opportunity to land a telling blow. The defender has entered the third year of his scholarship agreement, and United have hoped to tie Kukonki down to a professional contract, which was initially agreed last year.

There is plenty riding on this UEFA Europa Conference League encounter for Velež and Milsami Orhei alike, and neither will want to leave the home ground empty-handed. The hosts will hope that the the home ground crowd can inspire a performance, whatever the numbers suggest. The visitors will travel in the hope that a change of scene can spark a turnaround, whatever the form book says. One position every Premier League club still needs to strengthen in before the transfer window closes.

Pressing intensity will define the contest. Velež will seek to win the ball high up the pitch and suffocate Milsami Orhei's build-up, while the visitors will aim to play through the pressure and exploit the spaces it leaves behind. Andoni Iraola, like Luis Enrique, is a coach who demands that his players press high.

The fixture boasts genuine star quality. With K. Behrens topping the UEFA Europa Conference League scoring charts at 6 goals, the stage is set for the kind of individual brilliance that can swing a contest. Discipline at the back and sharpness in front of goal will likely tilt the balance one way or the other. New signing update as plan confirmed for midfielder - Manchester United Academy Notebook.

With the sides closely matched, the outcome may well hinge on which team takes its chances on the day. A share of the spoils looks the most probable outcome, with neither side holding a decisive edge — a 1-1 draw feels like a fitting result. More than just three points is on the line at the home ground — this is a fixture that could shape the narrative of both clubs' seasons. A more central role appears likely given the sale of Youri Tielemans to Manchester United and the anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered by Amadou Onana at the World Cup.
