Tychy 71 vs Zaglebie Sosnowiec - Cup

When Tychy 71 and Zaglebie Sosnowiec clash at the home ground on August 5, 2026, the stakes extend well beyond a single result — this is a Cup fixture that carries real weight for both clubs. The left-back was taken off in the final minutes against Everton with cramp, and was not risked for the Champions League clash vs Sabah on Thursday.

There is little to choose between Tychy 71 and Zaglebie Sosnowiec on paper, and the Cup encounter should reflect that balance. Tychy 71's recent form is difficult to quantify, but the occasion itself should bring the best out of them. The visitors will back themselves to cause problems and will not make the trip expecting an easy afternoon. In his latest column, Paul Merson predicts the 2026/27 Premier League season at both ends of the table.

Tactically, the contest promises a fascinating contrast. Tychy 71 will look to impose their style on home soil, while Zaglebie Sosnowiec are likely to have ideas of their own about how to gain the upper hand. In possession, Silva has the confidence to play forwards rather than simply recycling possession.

Game-changers are scattered across both line-ups, and the contest may well be decided by which side's match-winners deliver on the day. The wide areas will be a key battleground, with full-backs and wingers on either side capable of swinging the contest one way or the other. Manchester United have been warned about selling Marcus Rashford to a Premier League rival this summer, as uncertainty remains over the forward's future.

Predicting an outright winner is no easy task given how little separates the two sides on paper. Expect a tight, competitive affair that could easily end all square at 1-1. Whatever the outcome, the Cup fixture promises a meaningful contest with real implications for both clubs. It is understood that his next move is most likely to take him abroad - and potentially to the Premier League.
