Tranmere vs Blackpool - Friendlies Clubs

A fascinating Friendlies Clubs chapter awaits on July 18, 2026 when Tranmere take on Blackpool at the home ground — two sides with plenty to play for and everything to prove. Chelsea could do with a morale-boosting win when they face AC Milan in Jakarta.

There is plenty riding on this Friendlies Clubs encounter for Tranmere and Blackpool alike, and neither will want to leave the home ground empty-handed. The hosts will be looking to find their rhythm and put a run of results together. The visitors will back themselves to cause problems and will not make the trip expecting an easy afternoon. The player had scored the equaliser away to Lyon before winning the penalty that secured the three points.

The tactical subplot is compelling: Tranmere favour a possession-based game built on patience and control, while Blackpool are happiest sitting deep and exploding forward on the counter — a classic contrast of philosophies. But this approach also takes something that is almost anonymous in football - time.

Star players on both sides will be eager to make their mark, and the individual duels across the pitch could go a long way to deciding the outcome. Discipline at the back and sharpness in front of goal will likely tilt the balance one way or the other. Hull City are ready to fend off interest from Rangers and Cardiff to sign highly-rated Norwegian midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl - Mail Online.

Predictions are tricky when the sides are this evenly matched, and small margins — a moment of quality, a slice of luck — could decide it either way. Expect a tight, competitive affair that could easily end all square at 1-1. With positions in the Friendlies Clubs table to defend and momentum to chase, neither side can afford to leave anything in the tank. It is likely City adopt a more proactive pressing system higher up the pitch in order to exert territorial control on opponents.
