Taghit vs WA Mostaganem - Ligue 2

Season-defining implications hang over this Ligue 2 clash at the home ground, where Taghit host WA Mostaganem on October 9, 2026 knowing the result could shape the run-in for both clubs. The defender has entered the third year of his scholarship agreement, and United have hoped to tie Kukonki down to a professional contract, which was initially agreed last year.

Form and standings can only tell part of the story when Taghit and WA Mostaganem cross paths in the Ligue 2, and pride alone should guarantee a contest. The hosts will be looking to find their rhythm and put a run of results together. The visitors will back themselves to cause problems and will not make the trip expecting an easy afternoon. Inter want to sign Curtis Jones, but as things stand their valuation falls well short of Liverpool's, especially in a market when other Premier League proven players in his position have moved for such big fees.

The tactical battle could prove decisive. Taghit may lean on their home advantage to dictate the tempo, but WA Mostaganem have shown they can be dangerous when allowed to play on their own terms. Few of Bouaddi's age possess such a rare blend of physicality off the ball, and poise and balance in possession.

Game-changers are scattered across both line-ups, and the contest may well be decided by which side's match-winners deliver on the day. Set-piece specialists and aerial threats on both sides mean dead-ball situations could carry outsized importance. The Sun claim that former Reds forward Jadon Sancho is reportedly drawing interest from Qatari side Al-Rayyan, following previous transfer links to Roma.

The market has yet to form a strong view, and the contest looks genuinely difficult to call. Neither side holds a clear edge, and a 1-1 draw would be a fitting reflection of the balance between them. With positions in the Ligue 2 table to defend and momentum to chase, neither side can afford to leave anything in the tank. England captain Harry Kane is likely to sign a new deal to extend his stay at Bayern Munich despite interest from Barcelona.
