Sydkysten vs Frem - DBU Pokalen

The DBU Pokalen returns to the home ground on August 25, 2026, where Sydkysten and Frem will lock horns in a contest that could shape their respective campaigns. Manchester United play in Gothenburg on Saturday as they take on Paris-Saint Germain in their fourth pre-season fixture.

The two sides arrive with plenty to prove, and the DBU Pokalen contest at the home ground offers a chance to lay down a marker. The hosts will be looking to find their rhythm and put a run of results together. Frem will travel with intent, knowing that a positive result here could kick-start their campaign. Teams are more likely to allow a defender to bring the ball up the pitch than a winger playing in a far more advanced position.

How the two sides approach the contest strategically will be key. Sydkysten will want to control proceedings in front of their own supporters, while Frem will back themselves to cause problems on the break. The fixture features no shortage of talent, and the league's top marksman Ismaila Ceesay — 1 goals this term — will be one to watch. Set-piece specialists and aerial threats on both sides mean dead-ball situations could carry outsized importance. One of McInnes' decisions will likely be who starts up front in the absence of captain Lawrence Shankland and fellow striker Youssef Chermiti.

Predicting an outright winner is no easy task given how little separates the two sides on paper. A share of the spoils looks the most probable outcome, with neither side holding a decisive edge — a 1-1 draw feels like a fitting result. The result at the home ground could resonate well beyond matchday in the DBU Pokalen picture. It is understood that his next move is most likely to take him abroad - and potentially to the Premier League.
