Oudenaarde vs KRC Gent - Second Amateur Division - VFV A

There is a notable edge to this Second Amateur Division - VFV A fixture. When Oudenaarde meet KRC Gent at the home ground on April 11, 2026, both will sense an opportunity to land a telling blow. He is expected to miss the Community Shield game against Arsenal and the opening Premier League fixture of the season as a result.

The two sides arrive with plenty to prove, and the Second Amateur Division - VFV A contest at the home ground offers a chance to lay down a marker. The hosts will be looking to find their rhythm and put a run of results together. KRC Gent will travel with intent, knowing that a positive result here could kick-start their campaign. It’s safe to say that Paige Bueckers is putting up elite all-around numbers in her second WNBA season for the Dallas Wings, averaging over 20 points and nearly six assists a night.

Set-piece efficiency could prove the difference on the night. Both Oudenaarde and KRC Gent have invested time in dead-ball situations this season, and a single corner or free-kick may settle it. Andoni Iraola could not have been clearer about how he plans to change Liverpool when speaking in his opening press conference.

Neither side is short on individuals capable of tilting the balance, and the duel between the two squads' chief creators could prove particularly pivotal. The wide areas will be a key battleground, with full-backs and wingers on either side capable of swinging the contest one way or the other. Newcastle United's Lewis Hall is on the club's radar as they look to plan for life without Luke Shaw, while Shakhtar Donetsk's Kaua Elias has reportedly been scouted as a centre-forward alternative.

The market has yet to form a strong view, and the contest looks genuinely difficult to call. A share of the spoils looks the most probable outcome, with neither side holding a decisive edge — a 1-1 draw feels like a fitting result. More than just three points is on the line at the home ground — this is a fixture that could shape the narrative of both clubs' seasons. Joe Gomez is expected to miss the start of Liverpool's Premier League campaign through injury - but it is not likely to impact the Reds' transfer plans.
