Nitra vs Rača - 3. liga - West

A fascinating 3. liga - West chapter awaits on October 10, 2026 when Nitra take on Rača at the home ground — two sides with plenty to play for and everything to prove. Just as was the case in the previous meeting between the teams in April of last year, when Emery's side gave them such a scare in the Champions League tie at Villa Park, PSG were hanging on at the end.

There is plenty riding on this 3. liga - West encounter for Nitra and Rača alike, and neither will want to leave the home ground empty-handed. Nitra will be keen to seize the initiative and build some momentum on home soil. Rača will travel with intent, knowing that a positive result here could kick-start their campaign. He was sacked by Fiorentina after Che Adams' late goal for Torino left them bottom of the Serie A table with three defeats out of three.

The tactical battle could prove decisive. Nitra may lean on their home advantage to dictate the tempo, but Rača have shown they can be dangerous when allowed to play on their own terms. Schalke were third bottom for possession in winning the second tier, let alone facing Bayern.

Game-changers are scattered across both line-ups, and the contest may well be decided by which side's match-winners deliver on the day. Discipline at the back and sharpness in front of goal will likely tilt the balance one way or the other. Ramos did eventually score the breakthrough goal midway through the second half but that was one of eight attempts at goal by the Portuguese forward - and there were no fewer than four big chances missed.

Without the market to lean on, the contest feels genuinely open — and the outcome may come down to which side handles the occasion better. A share of the spoils looks the most probable outcome, with neither side holding a decisive edge — a 1-1 draw feels like a fitting result. Whatever the outcome, the 3. liga - West fixture promises a meaningful contest with real implications for both clubs. A more central role appears likely given the sale of Youri Tielemans to Manchester United and the anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered by Amadou Onana at the World Cup.
