Mes Soongoun vs Mes Kerman - Azadegan League

A fascinating Azadegan League chapter awaits on September 28, 2026 when Mes Soongoun take on Mes Kerman at the home ground — two sides with plenty to play for and everything to prove. Altrincham vs Manchester United U21s highlights and reaction from pre-season fixture.

Both Mes Soongoun and Mes Kerman will be eager to build momentum when they meet in Azadegan League. The hosts are badly in need of a turnaround, with L in their last five and a win rate of just 0% highlighting their struggles. Mes Kerman are searching for answers away from home, D over their last five with a campaign win rate of 0%. One side has leaned on a miserly defence, the other on a free-scoring attack, and the meeting of those contrasting strengths promises an intriguing tactical subtext. That’s according to Miguel Delaney of the Independent, who also adds that the Gunners remain keen on another world class forward in the form of Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez.

Wing play is likely to be central to the contest. Mes Soongoun will look to stretch the pitch and isolate their wide attackers, while Mes Kerman must find a way to compress the space and choke the supply lines. A month before his death, he was also arrested in Arkansas on charges including possession of a controlled substance.

Individual moments of quality could tip the balance. Both sides possess players capable of producing something out of nothing, and a single flash of brilliance may be all that separates them. Discipline at the back and sharpness in front of goal will likely tilt the balance one way or the other. Reports from the Corriere dello Sport claim that Lazio could be interested in a potential loan deal for the towering Italy centre-forward.

Without the market to lean on, the contest feels genuinely open — and the outcome may come down to which side handles the occasion better. A share of the spoils looks the most probable outcome, with neither side holding a decisive edge — a 1-1 draw feels like a fitting result. With positions in the Azadegan League table to defend and momentum to chase, neither side can afford to leave anything in the tank. A more central role appears likely given the sale of Youri Tielemans to Manchester United and the anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered by Amadou Onana at the World Cup.
