LASK Juniors vs St. Anna - Regionalliga - Mitte

Few would have predicted the narrative arc that brings LASK Juniors and St. Anna together at the home ground on May 29, 2026, and the underdog storyline only adds to the Regionalliga - Mitte occasion. K-League All-Stars v Manchester City: Confirmed line-ups as Maresca’s men face Korean test.

Form and standings can only tell part of the story when LASK Juniors and St. Anna cross paths in the Regionalliga - Mitte, and pride alone should guarantee a contest. The hosts will be looking to find their rhythm and put a run of results together. The visitors will back themselves to cause problems and will not make the trip expecting an easy afternoon. Carrick has experimented with Noussair Mazraoui in that position but he seems to have fallen down the pecking order, as the less experienced Patrick Dorgu was preferred for the Manchester derby loss.

The tactical subplot is compelling: LASK Juniors favour a possession-based game built on patience and control, while St. Anna are happiest sitting deep and exploding forward on the counter — a classic contrast of philosophies. Schalke had only 17 per cent of the possession but, having visited the club to interview their charismatic coach Miron Muslic, that is hardly a surprise.

Game-changers are scattered across both line-ups, and the contest may well be decided by which side's match-winners deliver on the day. How each side deals with the other's danger men — and who takes their chances when they come — will be central to the outcome. Brentford score three in dominant win over Chelsea to continue unbeaten start.

Predictions are tricky when the sides are this evenly matched, and small margins — a moment of quality, a slice of luck — could decide it either way. Neither side holds a clear edge, and a 1-1 draw would be a fitting reflection of the balance between them. With the standings tight and form on the line, this is a fixture neither side will want to lose. A more central role appears likely given the sale of Youri Tielemans to Manchester United and the anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered by Amadou Onana at the World Cup.
