Laci vs AF Elbasani - Superliga

The history between Laci and AF Elbasani lends this Superliga fixture an extra layer of spice, and when the two walk out at the home ground on August 22, 2026, recent encounters will be on everyone's mind. Manchester City face the K-League All-Stars in Seoul on Wednesday as part of their pre-season tour of Asia.

Both Laci and AF Elbasani will be eager to build momentum when they meet in Superliga. The hosts have been steady if unspectacular, LLDLD in their last five reflecting a win rate of 40%. AF Elbasani have blown hot and cold, WLDD across their last five and a season win rate of 25%. Goals could be in short supply or plentiful — Laci average 1.4 per game to AF Elbasani's 1.25, and that gap may dictate the rhythm of the contest. If you're Arsenal and wanting to win the Premier League, and you take six points off those teams, then you're near-on winning the Premier League.

How the two sides approach the contest strategically will be key. Laci will want to control proceedings in front of their own supporters, while AF Elbasani will back themselves to cause problems on the break. Man Utd are pushing higher and working harder to press and counter-press the opposition, especially to win the ball back quickly after a loss of possession.

Neither side is short on individuals capable of tilting the balance, and the duel between the two squads' chief creators could prove particularly pivotal. Discipline at the back and sharpness in front of goal will likely tilt the balance one way or the other. Real Madrid are expected to make an offer believed to be in the region of £43m-£51m (€50m-€60m) - but Man City are still hoping the midfielder will sign a new long-term deal.

The market has yet to form a strong view, and the contest looks genuinely difficult to call. The signals point towards a stalemate, with the two sides closely matched across form and standings. A 1-1 draw is easy to envisage. With the standings tight and form on the line, this is a fixture neither side will want to lose. All I ever wanted to do was win a championship for the New York Giants.” Beckham Jr is likely to play in the Giants’ first preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings at MetLife Stadium next weekend.
