Both camps will view the FA Cup meeting at the home ground as an opportunity to put a marker down, regardless of where they currently stand. The hosts will be looking to find their rhythm and put a run of results together. The visitors will back themselves to cause problems and will not make the trip expecting an easy afternoon. What happened is that when the team was being defeated game after game, they put more money on the table to solve the problem." It did not work.

Tactically, the contest promises a fascinating contrast. Kelantan City will look to impose their style on home soil, while Kuching FA are likely to have ideas of their own about how to gain the upper hand. Few of Bouaddi's age possess such a rare blend of physicality off the ball, and poise and balance in possession.

The fixture is likely to be shaped by its key performers, with creative midfielders and clinical finishers on both sides capable of turning the game in an instant. How each side deals with the other's danger men — and who takes their chances when they come — will be central to the outcome. Chelsea are inching close to selling Benoit Badiashile, with Napoli interested in loaning the central defender from the Blues.

With the sides closely matched, the outcome may well hinge on which team takes its chances on the day.
