The 2. Division - Group 2 returns to Nordlandshallen on September 13, 2026, where Junkeren and Skeid will lock horns in a contest that could shape their respective campaigns. Altrincham vs Manchester United U21s highlights and reaction from pre-season fixture.

Both camps will view the 2. Division - Group 2 meeting at Nordlandshallen as an opportunity to put a marker down, regardless of where they currently stand. Junkeren have held their own of late, WLLWL in their last five reflecting a steady win rate of 40%. Skeid have blown hot and cold, LLWWL across their last five and a season win rate of 25%. One side has leaned on a miserly defence, the other on a free-scoring attack, and the meeting of those contrasting strengths promises an intriguing tactical subtext. Fulham are starting to do some business now that Alvaro Arbeloa's feet are under the table as new head coach.

How the two sides approach the contest strategically will be key. Junkeren will want to control proceedings in front of their own supporters, while Skeid will back themselves to cause problems on the break. Everton are aware of interest from Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal, but there has been no formal approach or contact with them, and they have no appetite to sell the 26-year-old, who has three years on his deal.

Star players on both sides will be eager to make their mark, and the individual duels across the pitch could go a long way to deciding the outcome. How each side deals with the other's danger men — and who takes their chances when they come — will be central to the outcome. He describes himself as a box-to-box midfielder but is equally capable of operating on the wings or in an advanced No 10 role.

The market has yet to form a strong view, and the contest looks genuinely difficult to call. With the sides so closely matched, a 1-1 stalemate looks the most likely way this one ends. With positions in the 2. Division - Group 2 table to defend and momentum to chase, neither side can afford to leave anything in the tank. And Fonseca does not place too much weight on the decision of Roberto Martinez to omit him from the World Cup squad in favour of his Benfica team-mate Tomas Araujo.
