Illescas vs SS Reyes II - Friendlies Clubs

Season-defining implications hang over this Friendlies Clubs clash at the home ground, where Illescas host SS Reyes II on August 18, 2026 knowing the result could shape the run-in for both clubs. LIV Golf definitely changed the face of the professional game with the extortionate amounts of money that they pumped into the league.

Both Illescas and SS Reyes II will be eager to build momentum when they meet in Friendlies Clubs. Illescas's recent form is difficult to quantify, but the occasion itself should bring the best out of them. The visitors will back themselves to cause problems and will not make the trip expecting an easy afternoon. Rodri's future remains one of the major talking points as Barcelona step up interest in the World Cup winner.

The tactical subplot is compelling: Illescas favour a possession-based game built on patience and control, while SS Reyes II are happiest sitting deep and exploding forward on the counter — a classic contrast of philosophies. Schalke had only 17 per cent of the possession but, having visited the club to interview their charismatic coach Miron Muslic, that is hardly a surprise.

Star players on both sides will be eager to make their mark, and the individual duels across the pitch could go a long way to deciding the outcome. How each side deals with the other's danger men — and who takes their chances when they come — will be central to the outcome. Real Madrid have signed RB Leipzig forward Yan Diomande in a deal worth up to £120m.

Predicting an outright winner is no easy task given how little separates the two sides on paper. Neither side holds a clear edge, and a 1-1 draw would be a fitting reflection of the balance between them. The result at the home ground could resonate well beyond matchday in the Friendlies Clubs picture. And Fonseca does not place too much weight on the decision of Roberto Martinez to omit him from the World Cup squad in favour of his Benfica team-mate Tomas Araujo.
