There is little to choose between Heimstetten and Erlbach on paper, and the Oberliga - Bayern Süd encounter should reflect that balance. The hosts will hope that the the home ground crowd can inspire a performance, whatever the numbers suggest. Erlbach's away form is hard to read, but they will arrive with the belief that they can trouble their hosts. The Reds continue to retain an interest in the midfielder Manu Kone and left-back Lewis Hall, while one remaining high-profile departure this summer could come in the form of Marcus Rashford.

The tactical subplot is compelling: Heimstetten favour a possession-based game built on patience and control, while Erlbach are happiest sitting deep and exploding forward on the counter — a classic contrast of philosophies. The ramifications of this result could ripple through the Oberliga - Bayern Süd standings for weeks to come, regardless of who comes out on top.
