Germinal de Rawson vs Sol de Mayo - Torneo Federal A

Tactical intrigue takes centre stage on May 24, 2026 as Germinal de Rawson and Sol de Mayo prepare to square off at the home ground, with both managers known for their strategic nuance in the Torneo Federal A. It has not been a daunting fixture list but there are signs that Mourinho has found a way to get the best from an increasingly stacked Madrid squad.

In the Torneo Federal A table, Germinal de Rawson currently occupy 30th and Sol de Mayo sit 28th, and the context adds genuine weight to what is already an intriguing fixture. The hosts have struggled for consistency, LLLWD in their last five pointing to a win rate of 25%. Road trips have been a source of frustration for the visitors — DLLWD in their last five, a season win rate of 25%. Their respective approaches this season have differed noticeably, and the tactical contrast could prove telling. In terms of net spend, Liverpool topped the table with £219.4m, followed by Ipswich (£190.7m), Spurs (£176m) and Hull (£160.5m).

How the two sides approach the contest strategically will be key. Germinal de Rawson will want to control proceedings in front of their own supporters, while Sol de Mayo will back themselves to cause problems on the break. His passing display at the World Cup was yet more evidence of his suitability for City and the possession-heavy style Maresca favours.

Individual quality could tip the balance. The league's leading scorer Imanol Iriberri, with 3 goals to his name this season, is a reminder of the firepower on display. The battle in midfield, where both sides look to control tempo, could prove the decisive arena. Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has thanked AS Monaco after his contract was terminated by the club.

The market has yet to form a strong view, and the contest looks genuinely difficult to call. The numbers tilt towards Sol de Mayo, and a 0-1 away win looks the more probable outcome. The result at the home ground could resonate well beyond matchday in the Torneo Federal A picture. Premier League chief executive Richard Masters says a verdict on the alleged charges against Manchester City "has taken longer than expected".
