Felgueiras 1932 vs Moreirense - Friendlies Clubs

All eyes turn to the home ground on August 1, 2026 as Felgueiras 1932 welcome Moreirense in a Friendlies Clubs encounter that promises tension, intrigue and no shortage of subplot. Altrincham vs Manchester United U21s highlights and reaction from pre-season fixture.

The two sides arrive with plenty to prove, and the Friendlies Clubs contest at the home ground offers a chance to lay down a marker. Felgueiras 1932 will be keen to seize the initiative and build some momentum on home soil. The visitors will travel in the hope that a change of scene can spark a turnaround, whatever the form book says. That’s according to Miguel Delaney of the Independent, who also adds that the Gunners remain keen on another world class forward in the form of Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez.

Stylistically, this is a compelling matchup. Felgueiras 1932 favour a patient, possession-based approach, whereas Moreirense are at their most dangerous when allowed to hit quickly on the counter. No wonder the skipper had talked of a 'new Aston Villa' in the pre-match press conference with what seemed like genuine excitement.

The fixture is likely to be shaped by its key performers, with creative midfielders and clinical finishers on both sides capable of turning the game in an instant. Set-piece specialists and aerial threats on both sides mean dead-ball situations could carry outsized importance. Chelsea have confirmed the signing of former Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck from Brighton.

The market has yet to form a strong view, and the contest looks genuinely difficult to call. Neither side holds a clear edge, and a 1-1 draw would be a fitting reflection of the balance between them. With positions in the Friendlies Clubs table to defend and momentum to chase, neither side can afford to leave anything in the tank. Manchester City will begin another Premier League season with major uncertainty hanging over the club after league chief executive Richard Masters admitted the long-awaited verdict on their financial case has taken longer than expected.
