FC Tosno vs Cherepovets - Cup

Few would have predicted the narrative arc that brings FC Tosno and Cherepovets together at the home ground on August 12, 2026, and the underdog storyline only adds to the Cup occasion. Make it easier than ever to turn a regular fixture into something genuinely unforgettable.

There is plenty riding on this Cup encounter for FC Tosno and Cherepovets alike, and neither will want to leave the home ground empty-handed. The hosts will be looking to find their rhythm and put a run of results together. The visitors will back themselves to cause problems and will not make the trip expecting an easy afternoon. It’s safe to say that Paige Bueckers is putting up elite all-around numbers in her second WNBA season for the Dallas Wings, averaging over 20 points and nearly six assists a night.

Stylistically, this is a compelling matchup. FC Tosno favour a patient, possession-based approach, whereas Cherepovets are at their most dangerous when allowed to hit quickly on the counter. As a winger or more of a central, attacking midfielder? “He’s an offensive player who knows how to mix it up across the attack.

All eyes will be on the league's leading marksman Matheus Reis, whose 1 goals this season make him the standout threat and a player capable of deciding the outcome on his own. The wide areas will be a key battleground, with full-backs and wingers on either side capable of swinging the contest one way or the other. Despite these links, United will not be parting ways with the Slovenian striker.

The market has yet to form a strong view, and the contest looks genuinely difficult to call. A share of the spoils looks the most probable outcome, with neither side holding a decisive edge — a 1-1 draw feels like a fitting result. With positions in the Cup table to defend and momentum to chase, neither side can afford to leave anything in the tank. Fulham's Antonee Robinson could be one of those, who would likely be a cheaper alternative to Hall, who has just enjoyed a breakout season with the Magpies.
