Dragons vs Panthères - Championnat National

The history between Dragons and Panthères lends this Championnat National fixture an extra layer of spice, and when the two walk out at the home ground on October 10, 2026, recent encounters will be on everyone's mind. It has not been a daunting fixture list but there are signs that Mourinho has found a way to get the best from an increasingly stacked Madrid squad.

Both Dragons and Panthères will be eager to build momentum when they meet in Championnat National. Dragons's recent form is difficult to quantify, but the occasion itself should bring the best out of them. The visitors will travel in the hope that a change of scene can spark a turnaround, whatever the form book says. Ipswich would be open to permanent offers for the winger, who has three years to run on his contract.

The tactical subplot is compelling: Dragons favour a possession-based game built on patience and control, while Panthères are happiest sitting deep and exploding forward on the counter — a classic contrast of philosophies. It meant City had a three-man defence of Josko Gvardiol, Abdukodir Khusanov and Ruben Dias when in possession.

Individual moments of quality could tip the balance. Both sides possess players capable of producing something out of nothing, and a single flash of brilliance may be all that separates them. Set-piece specialists and aerial threats on both sides mean dead-ball situations could carry outsized importance. Chelsea open to loan deal with option for troublesome defender with 42 appearances.

Predictions are tricky when the sides are this evenly matched, and small margins — a moment of quality, a slice of luck — could decide it either way. A share of the spoils looks the most probable outcome, with neither side holding a decisive edge — a 1-1 draw feels like a fitting result. Whatever the outcome, the Championnat National fixture promises a meaningful contest with real implications for both clubs. The team currently most likely to win the 2026 WNBA Finals according to Opta.
