Comercial PI vs River AC - Piauiense - 2

A fascinating Piauiense - 2 chapter awaits on September 19, 2026 when Comercial PI take on River AC at the home ground — two sides with plenty to play for and everything to prove. That coronation came from City's £116m summer signing Elliot Anderson - and has been hotly debated in the build-up to the Manchester derby Super Sunday showdown at Old Trafford, which you can watch live on Sky Sports.

Both Comercial PI and River AC will be eager to build momentum when they meet in Piauiense - 2. The hosts will be looking to find their rhythm and put a run of results together. The visitors will back themselves to cause problems and will not make the trip expecting an easy afternoon. If he finds a way of those three players gelling and playing together - making one of them run in beyond - then Chelsea will have a very good season.

Pressing intensity will define the contest. Comercial PI will seek to win the ball high up the pitch and suffocate River AC's build-up, while the visitors will aim to play through the pressure and exploit the spaces it leaves behind. They are sticking to the principles of possession and pressing that have taken them from the fourth tier.

Game-changers are scattered across both line-ups, and the contest may well be decided by which side's match-winners deliver on the day. Set-piece specialists and aerial threats on both sides mean dead-ball situations could carry outsized importance. United are reportedly eyeing a move for Brentford striker Igor Thiago this summer.

With the sides closely matched, the outcome may well hinge on which team takes its chances on the day. Expect a tight, competitive affair that could easily end all square at 1-1. With positions in the Piauiense - 2 table to defend and momentum to chase, neither side can afford to leave anything in the tank. A more central role appears likely given the sale of Youri Tielemans to Manchester United and the anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered by Amadou Onana at the World Cup.
