CAP vs Guarani MG - Mineiro - 2

The history between CAP and Guarani MG lends this Mineiro - 2 fixture an extra layer of spice, and when the two walk out at the home ground on July 4, 2026, recent encounters will be on everyone's mind. Mason Mount has been outstanding for Man Utd in pre-season but he could still face fierce competition for a place in Michael Carrick's side next season.

Both CAP and Guarani MG will be eager to build momentum when they meet in Mineiro - 2. The hosts will be looking to find their rhythm and put a run of results together. The visitors will back themselves to cause problems and will not make the trip expecting an easy afternoon. Ipswich would be open to permanent offers for the winger, who has three years to run on his contract.

How the two sides approach the contest strategically will be key. CAP will want to control proceedings in front of their own supporters, while Guarani MG will back themselves to cause problems on the break. Man Utd are pushing higher and working harder to press and counter-press the opposition, especially to win the ball back quickly after a loss of possession.

The fixture is likely to be shaped by its key performers, with creative midfielders and clinical finishers on both sides capable of turning the game in an instant. Set-piece specialists and aerial threats on both sides mean dead-ball situations could carry outsized importance. Director of recruitment Christopher Vivell is said to be one of the names who put the Roma midfielder forward as a target, with director of football Jason Wilcox raising other options, which is why a deal is yet to progress.

Predictions are tricky when the sides are this evenly matched, and small margins — a moment of quality, a slice of luck — could decide it either way. A share of the spoils looks the most probable outcome, with neither side holding a decisive edge — a 1-1 draw feels like a fitting result. Whatever the outcome, the Mineiro - 2 fixture promises a meaningful contest with real implications for both clubs.
