All eyes turn to the home ground on June 4, 2026 as Cambodia welcome Bhutan in a Friendlies encounter that promises tension, intrigue and no shortage of subplot. Just as was the case in the previous meeting between the teams in April of last year, when Emery's side gave them such a scare in the Champions League tie at Villa Park, PSG were hanging on at the end.
Both camps will view the Friendlies meeting at the home ground as an opportunity to put a marker down, regardless of where they currently stand. The hosts will hope that the the home ground crowd can inspire a performance, whatever the numbers suggest. Bhutan's away form is hard to read, but they will arrive with the belief that they can trouble their hosts. Newcastle had agreed a deal worth £49m for the Switzerland international, who was a breakout star at the World Cup as he scored three goals in their run to the quarter-finals.
Stylistically, this is a compelling matchup. Cambodia favour a patient, possession-based approach, whereas Bhutan are at their most dangerous when allowed to hit quickly on the counter. Tottenham have changed their approach and are spending big on players who already know the Premier League.
With M. Sabitzer leading the league's scoring charts at 3 goals, the contest is unlikely to be short of attacking intent. Discipline at the back and sharpness in front of goal will likely tilt the balance one way or the other. They have all done very well." Vicente, a combative Spanish winger, provided the assist for Priske's goal at Swansea.
The market has yet to form a strong view, and the contest looks genuinely difficult to call. A share of the spoils looks the most probable outcome, with neither side holding a decisive edge — a 1-1 draw feels like a fitting result. The result at the home ground could resonate well beyond matchday in the Friendlies picture. Premier League chief executive Richard Masters says a verdict on the alleged charges against Manchester City "has taken longer than expected".
