CA Batna vs Khroub - Ligue 2

Few would have predicted the narrative arc that brings CA Batna and Khroub together at the home ground on October 13, 2026, and the underdog storyline only adds to the Ligue 2 occasion. Man Utd trained at Carrington on Monday morning as they prepared to face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

Both camps will view the Ligue 2 meeting at the home ground as an opportunity to put a marker down, regardless of where they currently stand. The hosts will be looking to find their rhythm and put a run of results together. The visitors will back themselves to cause problems and will not make the trip expecting an easy afternoon. Man City defiant and top of the table - but Anfield delivers its own verdict.

Pressing intensity will define the contest. CA Batna will seek to win the ball high up the pitch and suffocate Khroub's build-up, while the visitors will aim to play through the pressure and exploit the spaces it leaves behind. His passing display at the World Cup was yet more evidence of his suitability for City and the possession-heavy style Maresca favours.

The fixture is likely to be shaped by its key performers, with creative midfielders and clinical finishers on both sides capable of turning the game in an instant. The battle in midfield, where both sides look to control tempo, could prove the decisive arena. The Knicks forward recently told Fadeaway World that he has already “moved on” from the tip-in ahead of next season.

Predicting an outright winner is no easy task given how little separates the two sides on paper. Neither side holds a clear edge, and a 1-1 draw would be a fitting reflection of the balance between them. With positions in the Ligue 2 table to defend and momentum to chase, neither side can afford to leave anything in the tank. Fulham's Antonee Robinson could be one of those, who would likely be a cheaper alternative to Hall, who has just enjoyed a breakout season with the Magpies.
