Brigg Town vs Scunthorpe - Friendlies Clubs

The Friendlies Clubs returns to the home ground on July 7, 2026, where Brigg Town and Scunthorpe will lock horns in a contest that could shape their respective campaigns. Why Manchester United face transfer dilemma with unexpected star of pre-season.

Form and standings can only tell part of the story when Brigg Town and Scunthorpe cross paths in the Friendlies Clubs, and pride alone should guarantee a contest. Brigg Town will be keen to seize the initiative and build some momentum on home soil. The visitors will travel in the hope that a change of scene can spark a turnaround, whatever the form book says. Tim Sherwood makes his predictions for the new Premier League season, including who he thinks will make the top four in the table.

The tactical battle could prove decisive. Brigg Town may lean on their home advantage to dictate the tempo, but Scunthorpe have shown they can be dangerous when allowed to play on their own terms. Every word from Enzo Maresca's press conference including Man City team news and Manchester derby admission.

Game-changers are scattered across both line-ups, and the contest may well be decided by which side's match-winners deliver on the day. Discipline at the back and sharpness in front of goal will likely tilt the balance one way or the other. Johan Manzambi has scored his first goal for Aston Villa to give them a 1-0 lead over Tottenham right at the end of the first half.

Predictions are tricky when the sides are this evenly matched, and small margins — a moment of quality, a slice of luck — could decide it either way. A share of the spoils looks the most probable outcome, with neither side holding a decisive edge — a 1-1 draw feels like a fitting result. The result at the home ground could resonate well beyond matchday in the Friendlies Clubs picture. The 22-year-old was likely quite high up on the list of United's midfield targets and potentially even higher after Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga blows.
