America-RN vs ABC - Copa do Nordeste

A fascinating Copa do Nordeste chapter awaits on April 7, 2026 when America-RN take on ABC at the home ground — two sides with plenty to play for and everything to prove. It has not been a daunting fixture list but there are signs that Mourinho has found a way to get the best from an increasingly stacked Madrid squad.

Both camps will view the Copa do Nordeste meeting at the home ground as an opportunity to put a marker down, regardless of where they currently stand. America-RN will be keen to seize the initiative and build some momentum on home soil. The visitors will back themselves to cause problems and will not make the trip expecting an easy afternoon. The promoted side have plans to strengthen in every position, with midfield the priority.

Tactically, the contest promises a fascinating contrast. America-RN will look to impose their style on home soil, while ABC are likely to have ideas of their own about how to gain the upper hand. The 29-year-old ranked 4th in strokes gained approach in 2026, and he has finished outside the top four in that specific category only once in the seven full seasons he has played on the PGA Tour.

Game-changers are scattered across both line-ups, and the contest may well be decided by which side's match-winners deliver on the day. How each side deals with the other's danger men — and who takes their chances when they come — will be central to the outcome. Meanwhile, Ajax's new striker Tolu Arokodare continued his strong start by lashing in a fourth goal in three games in their 4-0 victory away to Telstar.

Predicting an outright winner is no easy task given how little separates the two sides on paper. A share of the spoils looks the most probable outcome, with neither side holding a decisive edge — a 1-1 draw feels like a fitting result. With the standings tight and form on the line, this is a fixture neither side will want to lose. Important qualities given that Bournemouth will expect him to be proactive.
