AC Horsens vs Hillerød - 1. Division

Tactical intrigue takes centre stage on May 9, 2026 as AC Horsens and Hillerød prepare to square off at the home ground, with both managers known for their strategic nuance in the 1. Division. The 18‑year‑old midfielder featured off the bench in the Foxes’ Carabao Cup first‑round tie last weekend, but could still depart before the window closes.

Both camps will view the 1. Division meeting at the home ground as an opportunity to put a marker down, regardless of where they currently stand. The hosts will hope that the the home ground crowd can inspire a performance, whatever the numbers suggest. The visitors have been a mixed bag on the road, WDWLD in their last five and a win rate of 25% reflecting their unpredictability. In what is arguably the most pointed contrast to Chelsea's recruitment strategy of recent years, Andrich was almost 25 years old when he made his Bundesliga debut for Union Berlin.

How the two sides approach the contest strategically will be key. AC Horsens will want to control proceedings in front of their own supporters, while Hillerød will back themselves to cause problems on the break. Tottenham have changed their approach and are spending big on players who already know the Premier League.

Game-changers are scattered across both line-ups, and the contest may well be decided by which side's match-winners deliver on the day. The wide areas will be a key battleground, with full-backs and wingers on either side capable of swinging the contest one way or the other. Despite his youth, the defender has won a total of six titles with Benfica and the national team, and was named as the best defender in the 2022/23 Portuguese league season.

With the sides closely matched, the outcome may well hinge on which team takes its chances on the day. A share of the spoils looks the most probable outcome, with neither side holding a decisive edge — a 2-2 draw feels like a fitting result. With the standings tight and form on the line, this is a fixture neither side will want to lose. And Fonseca does not place too much weight on the decision of Roberto Martinez to omit him from the World Cup squad in favour of his Benfica team-mate Tomas Araujo.
