Budaörs vs Pécsi MFC - NB III - Southwest

When Budaörs and Pécsi MFC clash at the home ground on October 24, 2026, the stakes extend well beyond a single result — this is a NB III - Southwest fixture that carries real weight for both clubs. Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai remains a doubt for Wednesday’s Champions League encounter against LASK.

The standings add context to the occasion — Budaörs occupying 10th, Pécsi MFC perched in 1st — and the gap between them shapes the narrative. Budaörs have blown hot and cold, LLLWW across their last five and a win rate of 28.57% that leaves room for improvement. The visitors have been formidable away from home, WWWWW in their last five and a win rate of 100% that puts them in elite company. One side has leaned on a miserly defence, the other on a free-scoring attack, and the meeting of those contrasting strengths promises an intriguing tactical subtext. Filipe Luis had sought to downplay Monaco's title prospects despite topping the table in France and that pessimism was somewhat explained as his side lost a two-goal lead at home to Toulouse.

Tactically, the contest promises a fascinating contrast. Budaörs will look to impose their style on home soil, while Pécsi MFC are likely to have ideas of their own about how to gain the upper hand. Andoni Iraola, like Luis Enrique, is a coach who demands that his players press high.

Game-changers are scattered across both line-ups, and the contest may well be decided by which side's match-winners deliver on the day. The wide areas will be a key battleground, with full-backs and wingers on either side capable of swinging the contest one way or the other. A chance to become a different type of forward was missed.

With the sides closely matched, the outcome may well hinge on which team takes its chances on the day. On balance, Pécsi MFC may just have enough to take all three points. A 1-3 away win would not be a shock. The result at the home ground could resonate well beyond matchday in the NB III - Southwest picture.
