15 de Agosto vs Simba - CAF Champions League

A fascinating CAF Champions League chapter awaits on October 17, 2026 when 15 de Agosto take on Simba at the home ground — two sides with plenty to play for and everything to prove. Michael Carrick spoke to the media in Spain on Monday ahead of Man United's Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid.

Both camps will view the CAF Champions League meeting at the home ground as an opportunity to put a marker down, regardless of where they currently stand. 15 de Agosto's recent form is difficult to quantify, but the occasion itself should bring the best out of them. Simba will travel with intent, knowing that a positive result here could kick-start their campaign. Michael Carrick has spoken on why Marcus Rashford did not feature for Manchester United in the club's most recent pre-season outing.

The touchline duel between the two managers adds another layer of intrigue, with both likely to tweak their setups in search of a decisive edge. They are sticking to the principles of possession and pressing that have taken them from the fourth tier.

In fixtures as finely poised as this one, it often comes down to who holds their nerve in the big moments — and both camps have players who relish that responsibility. The wide areas will be a key battleground, with full-backs and wingers on either side capable of swinging the contest one way or the other. It's round two of the Champions League and there are some mouth-watering ties to look forward to, including Manchester City hosting Paris Saint-Germain.

Predicting an outright winner is no easy task given how little separates the two sides on paper. The signals point towards a stalemate, with the two sides closely matched across form and standings. A 1-1 draw is easy to envisage. With positions in the CAF Champions League table to defend and momentum to chase, neither side can afford to leave anything in the tank. It is understood that his next move is most likely to take him abroad - and potentially to the Premier League.
